Pelvic floor disorders are common in men and women of all ages. Patients are often reluctant to seek medical advice through embarrassment or a mistaken perception that nothing can be done. However, pelvic floor disorders are common and we see about 500 new patients annually in Oxford and Banbury with these problems in our specialist pelvic floor clinics.
Effective treatment depends of careful assessment of you by us as your surgeons, backed up by our multidisciplinary team. In the background to this, we have an ongoing laboratory and clinical research programme to ensure that we can continue to lead future developments in the field.
We aim to provide a state of the art clinical service. All patients are entitled to have access to these services depending on your Primary Care Trust (PCT). 50% of patients referred to the Oxford Pelvic Floor Centre come from outside of the Oxfordshire Region.
